NSW Community Cup – competition announcement

In a first-of-its-kind state-wide tournament, Cricket NSW is organising a T20 knockout competition for senior cricket clubs across NSW.

The competition will culminate with the four preliminary finalists getting the chance to vie for the title at Cricket Central’s state-of-the-art ground, during a Cup Finals Day at the end of the season, with the eventual winner taking home the inaugural NSW Community Cup as well as a cash prize*.

The aim of this tournament is to bring together the senior cricket community in NSW and provide non-elite cricketing squads with the exciting prospect of being crowned the inaugural NSW Community Cup champions, while also having the opportunity of playing on a venue compliant with ICC standards.

The NSW Community Cup will feature a set of regular round elimination fixtures, depending on the number of teams that register their entry into the competition.

Matches are scheduled to take place fortnightly on Sundays throughout the 2023-24 summer cricket season. It is expected that round one of the NSW Community Cup will commence on Sunday, November 26. A full schedule of dates will be released shortly.

To add to the excitement of the NSW Community Cup, all matches will be played under replicated Big Bash League Playing Conditions, including Fielding Restrictions, Power Plays and the Power Surge!
