NSW Metro Clinch Third Straight U19 Title!

NSW Metropolitan have been crowned champions for the third year running, defeating Queensland in the final of the U19 Female National Championships in Perth.  

Olivia Callaghan, who plays for Gordon’s Women’s Cricket Club in first grade in McDonald’s Women’s Premier Cricket, was named Player of the Final, hitting 54 with the bat before taking two wickets for 47 runs off her 10 overs.

NSW Metro progressed through their round matches undefeated, including a mammoth 156-run win over Victoria Country, before defeating South Australia by 58-runs to secure their spot in the final. 

NSW Country had a tough loss to Queensland in the semis, dashing their hopes of a berth in the final, but bounced back to defeat South Australia by 8-wickets to finish third.  

NSW had four players named in the Team of the Tournament:

  • Kate McTaggart – NSW Country | 5th highest run scorer 
  • Ella Briscoe – NSW Metro | 7th highest run scorer 
  • Ava Drury – NSW Country | 2nd highest wicket taker
