New South Wales’ rising speedster Jack Nisbet has been named by the National Selection Panel (NSP) in a 12-player squad for the men’s Cricket Australia XI match against the West Indies at Karen Rolton Oval, Adelaide.
Nisbet named in CA XI to play West Indies
The three-day tour match will be played from Wednesday, January 10 to Friday, January 12 ahead of the NRMA Insurance Test Series between Australia and the West Indies.
Nisbet’s selection comes as a result of a collection of impressive performances with ball-in-hand for the NSW Blues.
The fiery 20-year-old quick has taken 11 wickets in three Sheffield Shield appearances to date, including an exceptional debut against South Australia, in Adelaide, that saw him secure figures of 1/72 and 5/53.
An Australian representative at the 2022 ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, Nisbet is the second-youngest selection in the side.

NSP Chair of Selectors George Bailey said:
“CA XI matches provide an excellent opportunity for some of our up-and-coming players on the domestic scene to face international opposition as well as rewarding consistent performers.
“The mix of the squad combines players who are well established at First Class level with those who are also just starting out at the level. The squad selected consists of players currently not playing in the Big Bash League.
“It’s an exciting opportunity for recent Sheffield Shield debutants like Liam Haskett, Jack Nisbet and Doug Warren to play alongside and learn from established domestic cricketers and against a touring international side.
