Breakers squad for home SA matches

NSW Women’s selection panel have picked a 13-player squad for a pair of home Women’s National Cricket League matches against South Australia at Cricket Central on Friday (7/2) and Sunday (9/2).

English international Georgia Adams will captain the side that includes just one change to the team that split their last two matches against Western Australia in January.

Uncapped rookie Lauren Kua drops out of the group, replaced by Caoimhe Bray, who has just returned from the ICC Under 19 Women’s World Cup.

Ashleigh Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield are playing in the Women’s Premier League in India, while Australian captain Alyssa Healy is injured.

The two matches could prove pivotal to the makeup of WNCL finalists this season, with four states – Tasmania (23 points, 2 matches remaining), South Australia (22 points, 4 matches remaining), NSW (21 points, 4 matches remaining) and Victoria (20 points, 4 matches remaining) in a log jam behind ladder leaders Queensland (31 points, 2 matches remaining)

Both matches get underway at 10am AEDT and can be seen live on Kayo and cricket.com.au

The matches are free to attend for spectators, but patrons are reminded that part of Cricket Central’s northwestern boundary is a construction zone as part of the facility’s Stage 2 development, limiting the areas available for seating.
