Roy Amos – Cricket NSW Code of Conduct Commissioner

The CNSW Board is pleased to announce its inaugural Code of Conduct Commissioner, Roy Amos.  Roy brings a wealth of experience from his own cricket career and his extensive volunteering roles at various cricket organisations.  Notably, he is currently the Foundational Chair of the Sutherland Cricket Council and a committee member of the Sutherland District Cricket Club and patron of the Sutherland Shire Junior Cricket Association (SSJCA).  He is a Life Member of the SSJCA, Bangor Barden Ridge Cricket Club and the Georges River District Cricket Club.  Roy has a legal qualification and background, and is the current Head of Surety, Asia Pacific for Chubb Insurance Group.  Roy has a passion for community cricket service and is interested in putting his legal background, process-driven mindset and training together to take on the challenge of the Commissioner role. 

Alan Wrigley – Assistant Commissioner

Alan volunteered to assist our Judiciary Committees for the 2023-24 season.  Alan is a Partner in the litigation and dispute resolution team at McCullough Robertson Lawyers, based in Brisbane, Queensland.  Alan works predominantly in the area of commercial and regulatory litigation.  Alan was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland on 21 November 2016.  In 2020, Alan completed his Masters of Law (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law at the University of Melbourne. Alan has particular experience in advising clients in relation to regulatory offences and matters relating to white collar crime offences.  In 2016, Alan was the Associate to His Honour Judge Searles of the District Court of Queensland.   Alan also acts a Tribunal Member for AFL Queensland. Alan is a current member of the Australian Lawyers Cricket team and has toured with the team twice (New Zealand 2019, United Kingdom 2023).  Alan currently plays cricket for Gold Crest Cricket Club in Brisbane, Queensland and has played cricket for approximately 16 years.

Elisabeth Houston – Assistant Commissioner
Elisabeth was recommended to the Integrity Unit as a Judiciary Committee member for the 2023-24 season by Darren Goodger, for her work as an umpire in the SCA competitions. Elisabeth is a practising solicitor, having been admitted in 1997 and a sole practitioner since 2004. Elisabeth is a self-proclaimed “cricket tragic” for as long as she can remember, and has been a NSW Umpire since 2011. She has umpired on the Central Coast, Newcastle and Sydney as well as representative competitions. Her daughter has played cricket for about 15 years (since Milo cricket) and currently plays in the Sydney Women’s Premier cricket competition and is also an accredited NSW umpire. Elisabeth has demonstrated outstanding experience and skills in the multiple judiciary matters she assisted with during the 2023-24 season. 

Paddy Moylan – Assistant Commissioner

Paddy is the Consulting Principal at Taylor Rose, a boutique law firm in the Southern Highlands south of Sydney where he practises in sports law, family law, philanthropy law and corporate advisory services.  He has significant involvement personally in the Sports industry as a cricket umpire and coach. He is the current Chair of the Southern Districts Cricket Zone and is a member of various tribunals and judiciaries.  Paddy is well-known in cricket for the significant contribution he makes as an administrator in addition to his busy law practice.  He has assisted CNSW in investigations during the 2023-24 season.

Tom Payten – Assistant Commissioner

Tom is an accomplished public and private sector executive with over 15 years’ experience across law, government and banking & financial services. Tom commenced his career at Allens, working predominantly in the areas of litigation and corporate law. Tom subsequently served as an advisor to a NSW Treasurer and two NSW Premiers, leading the NSW Government’s Cabinet and legislative process, and advising on complex and sensitive legal, policy and governance issues across the public sector.  Following the 2019 NSW state election, Tom worked as an executive in the Commonwealth Bank’s Marketing & Corporate Affairs Group before returning to the NSW Government in 2024 to work as a lawyer at The Cabinet Office, a central NSW Government agency which coordinates legal, policy and strategy work across the public sector. Tom was an enthusiastic junior cricketer and remains a dedicated cricket supporter. Tom has served as an Assistant Code of Conduct Commissioner, and later as Code of Conduct Commissioner, for the Sydney Cricket Association since the 2019/2020 season.

Wayne Evans OAM – Assistant Commissioner

Wayne commenced his professional life as a member of the NSW Police force, working as a senior prosecutor for almost 10 years before becoming a criminal law barrister. Wayne was appointed a Magistrate of the NSW Local Court and after a circuit position across the state was based at the Port Macquarie Local Court for about 20 years. He transferred to the Kempsey Local Court Circuit, where he worked following the introduction of Circle Sentencing to assist with the disproportionate representation of Indigenous adults and children within the Court system. Wayne is an avid cricket fan, and has assisted the Cricket NSW and the Country Committee of Management with the investigation and prosecution of Code of Conduct matters over recent years. In 2014 he was awarded an OAM for his contribution to the Community of the Mid North Coast and to the Law. In 2015 he received the Paul Harris Fellowship Medal from Rotary for service to the Community in particular as President of Sailability together with working with the youth.
