Maccas grants once-in-a-lifetime Cricket Central experience

Young cricket players Phoebe Laws, Lincoln Lauder and Aimee Bishop were given the opportunity to experience an unforgettable day out at Cricket Central after being named recipients of the Maccas Community Grant.

The trio of winners, who were all encouraged to bring a friend along, began their day with a comprehensive tour of our Cricket NSW’s state-of-the-art facility. This included a journey through the gym, the sports science sports medicine department, the aqua recovery area, indoor centre and more.

Shortly following the facilities tour, Cricket NSW’s Player Development Manager for Male Cricket Performance, Rory Hambly, shared valuable insights into how the players improve on and off the field.

Internationally experienced umpire, Ben Treloar, hosted a Spirit of Cricket video session before NSW Blues players Baxter Holt and Ryan Hadley took the winners through a standard game-day pre-match routine.

The icing on the cake was the fielding and indoor net session, where the winners got hands-on experience honing their cricketing skills from NSW Blues High Performance coach Nick Larkin.

Cricket NSW Senior Partnerships Manager, Pat Hogan, was thrilled to see the day come together successfully.

“We're absolutely delighted to hear that Phoebe, Lincoln, and Aimee enjoyed themselves, and hope they learnt a lot more about what it takes to become an elite athlete, on and off the field,” Hogan said.

“Shoutout to Maccas for making this dream day possible, and a huge thank you to the winners for making the most of this incredible opportunity!”
