Ben Treloar has become the latest New South Wales representative to umpire in an international fixture after he oversaw proceedings in the Australia v West Indies T20I fixture at North Sydney Oval on Monday (October 2).

Treloar was also the fourth umpire in the first match of the series at the same ground on Sunday (October 1).
Having joined the New South Wales Cricket Umpires’ & Scorers’ Association (NSWCUSA) in 2006, Treloar has gone on to umpire 265 SCA matches, 180 of which have been in men’s premier cricket first-grade including three consecutive Belvidere Cup finals (2021, 2022, 2023).
For Treloar, this achievement is further testament to years of dedication to the craft, and is another accolade to add to an already impressive umpiring career that includes:
- 8 Sheffield Shield matches
- 8 One-Day Cup matches
- 4 Women’s National Cricket League matches, including the final in 2020 and 2022
- 16 Big Bash League matches
- 25 Women’s Big Bash League
- Selected on the National Umpire Panel 2022-23
Cricket NSW Head of Competitions and Officiating, Darren Goodger, expressed great admiration for Treloar, highlighting the NSWCUSA member’s character above his achievements.
“Our New South Wales Cricket Community may be proud of Ben. He is an exceptional person, as real as they come, an umpire; humble, genuine, displaying above the line behaviours in all he undertakes,” Goodger said.
“Example is not the main thing, it is the only thing. Ben is an authentic role model, and our umpires state-wide are moved by his example.”
Cricket NSW would like to congratulate Ben Treloar on this fantastic achievement, though we know his best experiences and performances are yet to come.
