U14, U15 State Challenge return to Dubbo

The U14 male and U15 female Cricket NSW State Challenge carnivals will take place in Dubbo from January 22 to 25.

The State Challenge represents the first opportunity for NSW’s emerging metropolitan and regional cricketers to be selected and participate in a NSW Academy competition.

The U14 male State Challenge will see eight sides compete in three 40-over and two 20-over fixtures across four playing days (Jan 22-25).

The U15 female State Challenge will feature four squads, all scheduled to play two 40-over and two 20-over matches across three playing days (Jan 23-25).

All players have been selected for the State Challenge off the back of performances in their respective Cricket NSW Youth Championships competition.

This upcoming week in Dubbo will also assist in selections for the NSW Winter Academy programs, that continue throughout the off-season.

Cricket NSW Pathways Manager, Nic Bills, said:

“The State Challenge has been coming back to Dubbo for over 10 years. Throughout the week we will have up to six matches on any day, and the facilities in Dubbo allow us to play all matches in one place.

“We are incredibly lucky to receive the support we do from Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) and their staff, who keep the grounds and facilities in the best possible condition.

Without the support of Tracey, Wes and the entire staff at DRC, the Cricket NSW State Challenge would not be the success it is, giving young boys and girls the opportunity to play representative cricket.”

Cricket NSW extends its gratitude to Charter Hall, the Official Partner of the Cricket NSW State Challenge, for their generous support in sponsoring the supply of playing kits for all representatives, and their commitment to fostering cricket at the junior level.
