A 14-player NSW Men’s Team has been named for Sunday’s (February 15) Marsh One-Day Cup Final against two-time defending champions Western Australia at Cricket Central.
Blues squad for One Day Cup Final
The only change to the last 13-man squad that defeated then ladder leaders Victoria at North Sydney Oval earlier this month is the addition of fast bowler Liam Hatcher.
NSW have won Australia’s premier domestic one day title 12 times, second only to this weekend’s rivals who have claimed the crown on 16 occasions.
NSW’s last victory in the tournament came in the 20/21 season when they defeated Western Australia in the final at Bankstown Oval by 102 runs, in-form all-rounder Jack Edwards winning player of the match honours with a brilliant 108 (122 balls).
Edwards will again play a crucial role in this year’s decider following what has been a breakout season across all three formats of the domestic game.
The strapping right-armer leads the one-day competition’s wicket takers list this summer on 13, equal to Western Australian veteran Andrew Tye and Victorians Sam Elliott and Will Sutherland. Young Blues tyro Will Salzmann has 12 wickets to his name.
Blues veteran and domestic one day great Daniel Hughes (428 runs) is the competition’s leading scorer, while Western Australian skipper Sam Whiteman is second with 416. NSW captain Moises Henriques is fourth on the list with 332.
The match begins at 10.05am (Sydney time) and will be broadcast live on cricket.com.au, Foxtel and Kayo.
