The Cricket NSW Foundation (the Foundation) is proud to announce a new partnership with Defeat Diabetes. The partnership aims to reduce the prevalence of type 2 diabetes throughout New South Wales, especially within the cricketing community.
CNSW Foundation Partners with Defeat Diabetes to Combat Type 2 Diabetes
Thanks to the generosity of a benefactor, the Foundation will provide free access to the Defeat Diabetes Low Carb Program, which was developed by renowned sports physician Dr. Peter Brukner OAM. This evidence-based digital low-carb eating program is designed to help prevent, manage, and even reverse pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes.
The Foundation is excited to offer a limited number of free memberships to the Defeat Diabetes Low Carb Program to the cricket community. As a valued member of the cricket community, you’re eligible for a FREE membership to the Defeat Diabetes Low Carb Program (RRP $129). But hurry—places are limited. Dr. Brukner is a distinguished doctor and specialist in sports and exercise medicine. He has a rich history in sports medicine, having co-authored the widely respected Brukner & Khan’s Clinical Sports Medicine and served as team doctor for various high-profile sporting teams, including those in AFL, swimming, hockey, and athletics, as well as serving as the Australian Cricket Team doctor from 2012 to 2017, and playing a key role in securing 98 victories during his tenure. In recent years, he has developed a keen interest in nutrition, advocating for a paradigm shift in dietary guidelines.
He is particularly focusing his expertise on the health of the cricketing community. His Defeat Diabetes Program has already benefited nearly 11,000 Australians, leading to significant weight loss, increased energy, and improved blood glucose levels.
Managing blood glucose levels can be daunting, but Dr. Brukner’s digital program simplifies the process. There’s no need for complex recipes or calorie counting; instead, participants are encouraged to enjoy real, whole foods that are low in carbohydrates.
The program offers a wealth of resources, including videos, articles, quizzes, and practical tips crafted by Australian doctors and dietitians. With this straightforward approach, individuals can take control of their health while enjoying delicious and satisfying meals that align with their body’s needs.
Jake Balnave, Head of the Foundation, said:
“Our mission within the Foundation is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to play and love cricket. Through this partnership with Defeat Diabetes, we are hoping to reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes, and therefore ensure that our cricket loving community can continue to play and love cricket for as long as they physically can!”
