First Over
First ball – Ayre's Attack
Randwick Petersham captain Riley Ayre delivered a bowling masterclass in men's first grade, following up his 5-16 last round with 8-29, his sixth five-wicket performance - dismantling the opposition with career-best figures, including eight maidens. This stunning performance marks the best bowling figures in Randwick Petersham's first-grade history since the club's inception in 2001-02, cementing Ayre's place as a key figure in the club's bowling legacy.
Second ball - Dummett and Keating's Century Combo
Sydney Cricket Club secured a resounding 178-run victory over Sydney University in women's second grade, thanks to a stellar 186-run partnership between Lilly Dummett and Grace Keating. Dummett smashed an explosive 116 off 93 balls, including 14 boundaries, while Keating complemented with a controlled yet powerful 102 off 100 balls, striking 12 fours.
Third ball – Flannigan's Fiver
Sydney University's Luka Flannigan delivered a standout spell in men's third grade, taking five wickets for just 17 runs across 8.1 overs to help restrict Penrith to 184. The spell earned Flannigan his best bowling figures and second five-wicket haul for the club.
Fourth ball - St George-Sutherland Cruise with 20 Overs to Spare!
Samantha Dillon put on a batting clinic for St George-Sutherland, smashing 50 off just 17 balls, including 10 boundaries, in a thrilling start against Sydney University in women's third grade. Partnered by Zara Youngblutt, who added an unbeaten 35 off 28 balls, the team chased down their target comfortably with more than 20 overs to spare.
Fifth ball – Triple Threat
In men’s fourth grade Ryan Johns of Parramatta displayed an exceptional batting performance, scoring an unbeaten 111 runs off 101 deliveries. His innings was pivotal in guiding Parramatta to a convincing victory over Bankstown, culminating in a win by 147 runs, as they posted a total of 218 runs. However, it was bowlers Eddie Campion and Kabir Rana who stole the spotlight, dismantling Bankstown for just 71 runs. Campion’s spell was nothing short of sensational, taking 5 wickets for a mere 6 runs in his 7 overs. Not to be outdone, Rana complimented his teammate's efforts, also taking 5 wickets at the cost of just nine runs over 8.1 overs.
Sixth ball - Sterre Power
In an impressive show of batting and bowling in women's first grade, Gordon secured a commanding victory over Penrith, winning by 203 runs. Sterre Kalis put on a spectacular display with the bat for Gordon, scoring 136 from 119 balls, hitting 18 boundaries and one six. Gordon's bowlers then followed suit, dominating with the ball to seal a 203-run victory.
Second Over
First ball – Matilda Magic
Manly Warringah’s Brewer Shield team showcased their ability with both bat and ball, securing a commanding victory against Northern District by 159 runs. Manly's Matilda Brown was nothing short of destructive with the ball, taking 4-3 off her six overs.
Second ball – Hara's Seven Wonders
Gurinder Hara delivered an outstanding bowling display in men’s second grade, capturing an astonishing seven wickets for just 26 runs over 9.5 overs. His relentless attack was instrumental in Bankstown's 30-run victory over Parramatta, restricting their opponents to 221 runs and denying any momentum in the chase.
Third ball – Bankstown Blitz!
In a captivating clash at Grahame Thomas Oval, Bankstown displayed their prowess with a comprehensive 214-run victory over Northern District in women's second grade. Cynthia Coghlan led the charge with an explosive 106 off 102 balls, peppering the boundary with 18 fours. Her strong foundation, supported by a solid 64 from Amy Mills, saw Bankstown set a formidable total that Northern District could not match.
Fourth ball – Lowery’s Legacy
Northern District dominated their men’s first grade match against UNSW, scoring a massive 395 runs for the loss of just three wickets in 70 overs, led by David Lowery's impressive 138, which marked his ninth first-grade century and pushed his career total past 7,000 runs. UNSW struggled in their response, collapsing to 290 all out.
Fifth ball – Searle Sets the Pace
In men's fifth grade, Manly Warringah triumphed over Eastern Suburbs by 86 runs at Mike Pawley. The match saw an impressive batting effort from Adam Searle (Manly Warringah), whose explosive 81 runs off just 43 deliveries set the tone for his team's success. His aggressive approach was instrumental in guiding his team to 215 runs, leading to an 86-run victory over Eastern Suburbs.
Sixth ball – Gray the Great!
Western Suburbs saw a standout all-round performance from Finn Gray. Batting in just his seventh first-grade match, the 21-year-old scored a career-best 106* off 146 balls, reaching his century with a powerful six and adding 14 boundaries. He then dismantled Sydney's lineup, taking 4-19 in their first innings and 2-16 in the second. Muhammad Irfan complemented with a stellar 6-42, sealing a Western Suburbs win.
