Prodigious teenager Sam Konstas has joined six fellow NSW players on the list of 23 men’s players to be offered national contracts by Cricket Australia (CA) for 2025/26.
Promising opening bat Konstas has emerged from the NSW Blues system and made a well-documented debut against India in Melbourne last December when he took on Jasprit Bumrah on the way to a memorable 60. This is his first time on a CA contract list.
Konstas is the youngest player on the list and is joined by Australian Men’s Team captain Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith, Mitch Starc and Adam Zampa.

“In Sam we see promising upside in a young player who will continue to develop at first class level and in the international environment.”
The MOU between Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketer’s Association states between 20 and 24 male players are eligible to be contracted.
Fellow Blues player Sean Abbott did not have his CA contract renewed.
As in previous years, players will have the opportunity to upgrade to national contracts in the 12-month period via selection in Test, ODI and T20I cricket.
