Player Story

A leg-spinner from New South Wales' south coast, Adam Zampa showed early signs of his ability after playing an instrumental role in Australia’s successful campaign at the 2010 Under-19 World Cup.

Following his impressive performances for South Australia and the Melbourne Stars, the wily spinner made his way into Australia’s ODI & T20I squads in 2016. Zampa emerged as Australia’s leading wicket-taker in the World T20 hosted by India the same year.

By 2019 Zampa had established himself as one of the first picked bowlers in Australia’s ODI and T20 setups, and an impressive career trajectory has seemingly seen him improve year-on-year.

Typifying the modern white-ball wrist spinner with a skidding stock delivery, Zampa proved crucial in Australia’s maiden T20 World Cup triumph in the UAE in 2021.

He finished with 13 wickets at an economy rate of just 5.81 and was considered by several judges as unlucky not to be named Player of the Tournament.
