The three-day carnival will provide a mix of 40-over and T20 cricket, as eight teams – Central Coast, Central Northern, Greater Illawarra, Newcastle, North Coastal, Riverina, Southern Districts and Western – compete for the title.
Following a restructuring of Country Zones, the competition will host a Southern Districts side for the first time.
Chair of the Southern Zone Paddy Moylan is eager to see the side make its tournament debut.
“It is an extremely exciting time for us as a new zone to field our first team,” Moylan said.
“Our U19 female team are a seriously talented and impressive group. I have no doubt they will do themselves and the zone proud on and off the field."
Aside from team success, players will be hoping to bring their personal best as positions in the U19 NSW Country side for the national championships are up for grabs.
Chair of Country Cricket Paul Marjoribanks highlighted the significant opportunity presented to the athletes taking part.
“These competitions have proved that they are the pathway to greater honours,” Marjoribanks said.
“Only three years ago, NSW Breaker and now Australian player Phoebe Litchfield was playing in them.
“I wish all players the best of luck."
