Viewers and supporters from Broken Hill to Bondi, from Albury to the Tweed, will be able to see the finalists fight it to lay claim as the best T20 community team in the State and win the coveted NSW Community Cup.

The tournament gained popularity in the first year, in 2023/24, with 25 club teams playing through the qualification rounds that led to way to a closely contested final where Wollongong DCC emerged as winners.

Martin Gleeson, Chief Community Cricket Officer, Cricket NSW, said:

“The NSW Community Cup is a great competition pitting clubs across the State against each other under BBL playing conditions. The quality of cricket has impressed through the competition and the enthusiasm and commitment of players has ensured tough and competitive cricket has been the hallmark.

We are excited to further our partnership with FrogBox to be able to stream the Grand Final on Kayo.  This competition is the ideal extension to a club’s regular season and we expect the competition to continue to grow in stature.

Wollongong have made it back to the Finals Day to defend their title this year, which has already thrown up quite a few nail-biting and exciting moments for NSW’s cricket clubland since Round 1.

Some notable performances from the tournament so far include:

  • A tie between Lindfield DCC and West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook CC in the quarter final had to be decided with a super over bowled tightly by Lindfield’s Dan Miles to clinch a fine win for his team.
  • West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook’s opener Billy Gaunt made a stellar 88 runs in the same game
  • North Richmond’s Dylan Wilson took 5 for 10 off his four overs to steer victory against Penrith RSL.
  • Rover’s openers Callan Mckiernan (67 n.o.) and Kurt Prosper (38 n.o.) showcased an unbeaten opening stand of 114 to defeat Northern Power.
  • Jake Hardy from The Entrance smashed 101 off 52 in their win against Rovers.
  • Normanhurst-Warrawee’s Geerthan Kumaran took 4 for 13 off four overs and contributed with the bat with his 20 n.o. in their loss to Wollongong.

The exceptional performances brought both their teams through to the semifinals for the first time. The first semi final will be played by Lindfield DCC v Epping Bulls CC at 8.30am and the second will see reigning champions Wollongong DCC v The Entrance CC at 11.45am. Both semifinals can be seen on Cricket NSW’s YouTube channel.
